aphorism. (bagian kedua)

chapter 03 HUMILITY



  • A wise person must be humble and unnassuming. like the rice stalk that bows under the weight of ripe grain.
  • Only those who respect themselves have the courage to the humble.
  • To be humble is to shrink our ego until we are small enough to enter another's eyes and reside in their heart and mind.
  • To regard ourself lightly is prajana (wisdom). To regard ourself highly is attachment.
  • people whi are preoccupied with past achievements cannot humble themselves.


chapter 04  REPENTANCE


  • We start to slacken the minute we find excuses for ourself.
  • That shoulder a burden is an inspiring force; To admit a mistake is a noble virtue.
  • It is easy to reflect on major mistakes. And hard to eliminate slmall bad habbits.
  • Repetance purfies the mind; a purified mind is free worry.

chapter 05  EFFORT


  • Nothing is imposible with confidence, perseverance, and courage.
  • Willing to think, cultivate ourselves, and take mindfull acion, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
  • We  must carry out our task according to principles, not let our principles be compromised by our tasks.
  • Abide by your principles in everything you do. Never act purely to satisfy others. you may be in over your head.
  • When doing any task, have the innocence of a child, the endurance of a camel, and the courage of a lion.
  • Good actions require everyone's cooperation. Let go of personal bias.
  • In handling matters, let your mind influence your heart In dealing with people, let your heart influence your mind.

chapter 06  REFINEMENT


  • The beauty of a group lies in the refinement of its individuals.
  • A revined dispotition is naturaly expressed in the way a person walks, lives, sits, and sleeps.
  • It is trough the daily cultivation of tolerance and humility that we become refined in demeanor and conduct.
  • to apreciate others is to dignify ourself.

chapter 07 CONTENMENT


  • Matreial objects are meant to used. Yet people who lack wisdom become discontent and enslaved by material objects.
  • How bitter life is when we have desires! our demands on others bring endless misery.
  • If we can reduce our desires, there is nothing realy worth getting upset about.
  • One who is contents finds great happiness even sleeping on the ground. One who is discontent will never find happines even in the heaven.
  • One who is contents is immensenly broadhearted. a broadhearted person will not be in dispute with others over any matter.
  • Realize you are blessed, and cherish the blessings. Then continue to cultivate more blessing.
  • The ocean can be filled, yet the tinny mouth of a human being can never be filled.
